Gusto HR System: Your HR Command Center
Gusto is our HR and payroll platform. Everything related to your employment — your pay, your benefits, your time off, your tax documents — lives in Gusto. You need to know how to use it.
Getting Started in Gusto
You will receive a Gusto invitation email on your first day — complete your profile immediately
Set up direct deposit — this is how you get paid
Review and complete all onboarding documents in Gusto within 48 hours
Download the Gusto mobile app for easy access
Time Tracking
All time must be tracked accurately in Gusto. Clock in when you arrive and clock out when you leave — no exceptions.
Clock in within 5 minutes of your scheduled start time
Clock out accurately — do not round up or down
If you forget to clock in or out, notify your Director immediately — do not wait
Overtime must be pre-approved by your Director
Working off the clock is prohibited and a violation of labor law
Payroll Schedule
Pay periods are bi-weekly (every two weeks)
Payday is every other Friday via direct deposit
Review your pay stub in Gusto every pay period
Report any payroll discrepancies to your Director within 3 business days
PTO and Leave Requests
All time-off requests must be submitted through Gusto at least 2 weeks in advance for planned absences. Emergency absences must be reported to your Director by phone — not text — at least 2 hours before your shift.
PTO accrual begins after 90-day probationary period
Full-time employees accrue 40 hours PTO per year
Sick leave is separate from PTO — see your offer letter for details

Benefits Enrollment
Benefits enrollment is completed through Gusto during your first 30 days of employment. Available benefits include health insurance options, dental, vision, and the CDA Scholarship program (Peas in a Pod covers your CDA coursework costs).
